Visual: An elephant trumpet and puts its trunk in the air. Some kind of cold spell freezes it instantaneously. It becomes frozen in a cube of ice, buried and forgotten. Then a warm spell comes along and it thaws. It starts moving ever so slightly. It is alive again. But the damage has been done. It will never be the same again.
Meaning: Life can be cruel and unfair
Intent: Fairness, being treated right, truth, being unharmable

New Visual: A monkey is swinging from vine to vine. Snap. One vine breaks and monkey falls on butt. Ouch! But who can monkey complain to? Whose fault is it? No one's, its just how it is. Monkey gets up and swings again, but this time keeps in mind that vine could break and he should be prepared for a fall to minimize damages.
